What are Antibiotics/antineoplastics?
Anthracyclines anticancer antibiotics mainly include daunorubicin, doxorubicin, epirubicin and mitoxantrone. Doxorubicin has a broad clinical anticancer spectrum.
Cisplatin is an antineoplastic agent that came into use in the late 1970s. Cisplatin, while highly toxic, is one of the most heavily utilized chemotherapeutic agents for hematologic and solid tumor malignancies. It can be used as a single-agent or combination therapy for induction and neoadjuvant therapy.
Antineoplastic chemotherapy drugs contain chemicals that kill cells that rapidly divide, including cancer cells. Doctors use these medications to help treat some types of cancer. There are many types of antineoplastic drugs.
This can help prevent infections. We’ll also give them to cancer patients who are receiving certain types of chemotherapy, since their cancer treatment puts them at greater risk of developing specific types of infection. It’s really important for those patients to take their antibiotics exactly as prescribed.
The drugs can be divided into three simple groups: the cytotoxic drugs, the hormones, and the signal transduction inhibitors.
