What are Psychotherapeutic combinations?

Psychotherapeutic combinations are products that contain more than one agent to treat psychosis and other mood disorders. The different products have drugs combinations, which work by different mechanisms and the most appropriate combination is chosen depending on the symptoms and diagnosis. The combination used is aimed to achieve leveled mood or behavior.

Typically, the term refers to using multiple therapies to treat a single disease, and often all the therapies are pharmaceutical (although it can also involve non-medical therapy, such as the combination of medications and talk therapy to treat depression).

Multi-Class Polypharmacy is the most prevalent type of polypharmacy found in 20.9% of patients. In Multi-Class Polypharmacy, the combination of SSRI with a benzodiazepine is the most common, followed by combination of a tricyclic antidepressant and a benzodiazepine.
